These strings have a bright, warm sound, but on my instrument they produce unwanted “squeaks”. The tone is not consistent from note to note, even when I use a consistent bow speed and weight.

They also hold pitch really well, and they’re easy to play. I might consider other A strings, but the lower 3 are exactly what I was hoping for. I needed the medium-small size 15-16, and only Southwest Strings had it. Thanks!

Warmed up my viola’s tone like no one’s business. So easy to play on. Beautiful….still not a gut sound, but I’m not missing gut strings nearly as much as with almost any other synthetic/metal core (I’ve tried most of them). Usually not a Kaplan fan, but these converted me!
