I’m a strings teacher with 30 students. I have always recommended SWStrings for students. I purchase this cello for lessons. I’m very disappointed in the sound and general condition. A student has the exact same model with much fuller sound, and no defects. the bow is losing hairs regularly.
The instrument’s C string rattles against the fingerboard. I am very disappointed.
I purchased 2 of these cellos for my High School Orchestra. They have a nice bright sound that projects well. However, both of these cellos end pins would slip out to the highest position and would become stuck. I had to take one of them to the music shop to get it back in. Also, the chrome plated brass end pin screw got stripped. Southwest Strings did replace it though.

Sounds good, looks great, fits my son well. It was a nice upgrade from his beginner 1/2 size cello.
