Description
A widely-used set by many advanced and professional cellists.
In addition to full sets of either Spirocore or Larsen strings, another popular option among cellists is to mix the C and G strings of Spirocore with the D and A strings of Larsen. This combination is known to provide a warmer tone for the upper strings while maintaining the clarity and projection of the Spirocore lower strings.
For greater strength and power, sets including Larsen Solo upper strings or Spirocore Tungsten lower strings (or both) will bring out the volume of each respective register.
Larsen A and D strings (medium gauge): Wound with an alloy over a solid steel core, Larsen offers warmth while maintaining clarity.
Thomastik Spirocore G and C strings (silver wound): Wound with silver over a spiraled steel core, the G and C strings will produce a bright and powerful sound.

I’ve had this set of strings for 2 weeks now and like the title says they are very nice overall, but I find the C string is dull and I have to bear down quite a bit to get decent sound from it. The G string is far better, with a much more pronounced tone and ease of playing. The Larsen strings are quite nice too, warm and not tinny and what I expected. I think I would try a different C with this same set the G itself is outstanding!
