The Klaus Mueller Brazilwood (VOB1) viola bow is a step up in craftsmanship from the VOBC viola bow. Well-balanced and with great playability, the Klaus Mueller “Fine” viola bow is a great choice for the beginning to intermediate student.
This bow is crafted from real horsehair, an octagonal Brazilwood stick, a fully mounted nickel-silver on ebony frog with Parisian eye, three-part adjuster, nickel winding, and leather grip.

I purchased some of these bows for middle school – school instruments last year and they held up well. They feel lighter than more expensive bows which is not ideal for viola, and they are not that stiff in their camber, but that keeps the hair from getting overstretched by students over tightening them. For the price they are as good as I could hope.

I hate to say this, but after I tightened this bow a normal amount and started to play, the tip broke, all in about 10 seconds. Good price but not for 10 seconds!
