Pirastro Perpetual cello strings are available in Solo, as well as Medium, Edition, or with the option of the Candenza G and C.
The Solo set is designed to have outstanding brilliance and an impressive dynamic range. They can be described as having incredible radiance and presence.
The Perpetual line was designed to have great flexibility. To represent a tonal spectrum that can range from sweet and warm, to brilliant power. A clear and focused sound, and responsive to the most delicate touch. Truly a string that makes anything possible.
The Perpetual Solo is available as a standard Solo set, or with the Medium A and D if desired.
- A: Chrome-steel over steel (Medium or Solo)
- D: Chrome-steel over steel (Medium or Solo)
- G: Tungsten over rope core
- C: Tungsten over rope core

I am very pleased with the A string tone. I replaced a Jargar, hoping to add warmth instead of brightness as my Oded Kishony cello has quite a bit of punch. I am happy with the trade, I achieved just that. I think the D string complements the A, but I’m not as excited about it. It is definitely resonant, but not as vibrant to balance the two out. Overall very pleased with my new upper strings.

These cello strings always sound so clear and nice in rehearsals. The sound is not muddled, but blends well and does not stick out while still sounding unique and able to stand on its own. Also shipped quickly and with no issues – will order again next year!
