These are made by Pirastro, and are like Helicores on steroids. If you are a fiddler they are great if quite expensive.

My violin has a complex, woody tone I love but it tends to get fuzzy. I bought Flexocors to see if I could get my instrument to speak more readily without getting too bright. It worked. The Flexocors are responsive and seem to focus all the tonal energy in one place, which yields a good color for me with more power and clarity. I feel like I have less of a range in the color pallette than I did with Dominants, but the instrument behaves better. This is a little bit of a tradeoff, but it has been a positive one for me. On the whole, I think the Flexocors have emphasized my violin’s strengths and covered its weaknesses.

These strings are a high-tension, high power set. I was seeking mainly the longevity of metal strings, and found that the gentler sound of the Jarger Classic was more in line with my personal taste. If you’re a soloist, or your instrument has a rather dark sound, the Flexocor-Permanent might be just what you’re looking for.
