The Warchal Brilliant viola set is intended for players who seek a projecting sound. It also offers quick tuning stability. Synthetic core strings need about three to four days to settle in before achieving full tone quality.
Metal core as well as synthetic core A strings are available. The sound of the synthetic A string matches the set perfectly. However aluminum or hydronalium wound A strings are less durable than those with a metal core, so players are given a choice.
These have a vibrating string length of 15-15.75″ (38-40cm). This length is the distance along the string from the bridge to the nut. These are generally suitable for violas that have a body length of 16″ or larger.
A: Stainless Steel over metal core, or Hydronalium over synthetic core
D: Hydronalim over synthetic core
G: Stainless steel/Pure Silver over synthetic core
C: Stainless steel/Pure Silver over synthetic core

I started with Evah Pirazzi strings on my viola, then Dominant, then Warchal Brilliant. The Brilliant set was better than the first two, but I just put on a set of Warchal Amber strings, and the tone is so much better. Not as loud as the Brilliant set, but I will probably use the Ambers from now on. The Amber strings sound close to gut; the Brilliant strings sound a bit too metallic, by comparison, and can’t compete with the overtones of the Amber. Because of the superior tone of the Amber set, I am giving the Brilliant four stars instead of five. If you want a string to use in a big concert hall, then the Brilliant would be a five-star.
Southwest Strings is always my first go to online store for sheet music and strings. 5 stars for their service!
As for the strings, I only have experience with Evah Pirazzi for a few days and these, so not much to compare to. They sound good on my daughter’s student viola.
