rich & robust for very old instruments

    Thomas (verified owner)

I have a ca. 1820 Mirecourt that would otherwise be appropriately strung with guts. I tried Evahs, Zyex, Dominants and they all made the instrument sound like it was wrapped in a blanket. This offering puts a minimal load on the table without feeling flippy-floppy under the fingers. I don’t have another violin to comment on the color of the stings, my own violin is extremely deep, dark and breathy and these Warchal strings bring those qualities out very nicely.

    Better than Expected

    Kara (verified owner)

I’ve wanted to try these strings for a while but only recently got around to it. I have a vintage violin and was looking for a set of strings that would bring out its qualities but at an affordable price. These strings do not disappoint! I wan’t expecting them to sound so good! The G and D are warm yet they have nice ring and depth of tone. The A and E sound nicely balanced with the set, however, I ended up putting on the Warchal Russian A with the Pirastro Gold E to match more of the warmth of the G and D (plus my violin is quite loud) and the combo is PERFECT! They settled in around day 2 and are very easy to tune. They are also easy on the left hand. I will be ordering them again! Thanks Southwest Strings for great prices, great service, and for carrying these strings.
