Description
The Warchal Amber string set has been developed with the aim of achieving the sound qualities of the best gut strings without any tuning instabilities. The set features W-Core®, a completely new core material developed by the Warchal Research; Development team. The sound is rich and warm, but with depth and texture.
The Amber E string is based on Warchal’s newest research. The composition of the core increases the longitudinal elasticity of the string, which results in a significant sound improvement. The Amber E string, while plain steel, offers a warmer sound and no whistling.

Excellent strings. They do not have the dynamic and color range of perlon (i. e. Dominants), but are slightly cleaner sounding and easier to play in high positions. They are warm and have a similar fast attack and some of the complexity of gut strings.
However, the e-string is extremely high tension: horrible in sound and mismatched with the rest of the set in response. It does make the rest of the set sound good, which I assume is why it’s the way it is, but it’s not worth the trade-off. Also, this didn’t bother me, but in high positions you’ll notice the twist in the string under your fingers.

So far I’ve only tried the E string and it’s fantastic with a rounder and fuller sound than I’m accustomed to with a steel E.
