Description
Designed with the soloist in mind, Vision Solo violin strings are similar in focus of sound, brevity of break-in time, and clarity of pitch to the original Vision set of violin strings, with increased warmth and power. Both Vision Solo and the classic Vision violin strings are known especially for their clarity and focus.

This string has a generally warm sound with excellent protection and volume. They are responsive with a wide range of dynamics possible. Tension is high for TI, but average for the current generation of synthetic strings.
The sound is exceptionally clean with no metallic edge to the sound whatsoever. This may make them sound flat on some instruments, but very complex and bright instruments may benefit from that sound, it’s a total YMMV string.
Be warned that these strings die suddenly after a certain amount of playing. I’ve talked with at least 4 colleagues who have had the same experience, two actually got their bow rehaired because they suddenly became noticably difficult to play. This can be remedied by aways having a spare set on hand and because they break in very fast this is not a problem…except it’s very expensive to change strings so frequently.

Thanks for the strings – I haven’t put them on the instrument yet. I thought my current A string was defective; turns out it was just some dirt stuck on the string, so not changing for now.

I have been using Vision Solo strings for several years. My 100 year old violin has never sounded better!
