Pirastro’s Original Flat-Chrome strings for bass are made out of a high-tensile rope made from carbon steel at the core, and wrapped in chrome steel. These strings are ideal for arco playing. They produce a very brilliant sound with a short sustain. The sound projection of these strings is slightly greater than that of the original Flexocor strings. They are very responsive with a big tonal volume.

Over 40 years of orchestra bass playing, the Pirastro Flat Chrome are the best bass strings I have ever used. To get that full, Arco glorious bass sound, there are the strings of choice for me!
